About the work
Title: "Where do you get those ideas?"

Art form: 3-D

Medium: wood

Year created: Work not created yet

Description of work: The work is a large wooden head shape (8'h x 7'd x 6'w) with the inside of the head open to view the thought processes inside. These mechanical scenes are solely powered by the turning of a hand crank. Viewers will be allowed to crank the machine.

The Rube Goldberg type scenes will show how the inventor/artist gets his ideas. Some of the scenes shown are:

1. Inventor working at a desk in his office while ideas dance on the bookcase, desk and above his head.

2. "Coming Soon---New Idea" sign above a construction site with moving workers and equipment.

3. Assembly line (similar to Fords) showing the idea being built

4. Idea being test flown-- " to see if this idea will fly".

5. Many other ideas playing on puns and cliches (chasing a dream, lost in thought, etc.)

6. Other scenes; Large coffee pot with ideas pouring out. Stumbling over a fact.

7. The inventor will be shown at the wheel of this "mind ship" with all the controls needed a mind.
